Planning Change

Planning Change

Reflecting upon this upcoming team dissemination project, I anticipate that my team will accomplish it all through communication and teamwork. The nursing profession is all about teamwork, communication, and holding responsibilities and accountability. Our communication plan will be open and honest, all being upfront about delegation and responsibilities, which we have found to be the most effective in past team projects.

Regarding conflict resolution, the same principle applies: communication, communication, communication! We will all be working together as a team, and nothing will get done effectively if there is not an open ground for communication. So, if there is any conflict regarding a team member not fully participating, late or poor quality assignments, we will all discuss it as a team and identify why the conflict/issue occurred, and how we will prevent it from happening again, and how we will go about the rest of the project.

By completing this project as a team, I think it will help prepare us for what it will be like when we work with other nurses and healthcare professionals throughout our future careers. As healthcare professionals, teamwork is essential for quality patient care, as nurses are not the only ones who care for those patients. They have to communicate with doctors, lab technicians, therapists, nursing assistants, etc. This project represents that – collaborative teamwork. Similarly, to the nursing profession, barriers include busy schedules, which our whole team has. However, despite busy schedules, if we are upfront and communicate any issue that we may have regarding the project, it will allow us as a team to work through that issue and overcome it.
