ATI Pharmacology Practice B
The second practice test for pharmacology went very well. I feel like I was able to learn a lot from the first one, develop effective review strategies, and overall improve my score for the second practice exam. After the first one, I made a list of what questions I had the most difficulty answering and then was able to use that to create a focused review of common medications that I felt like were most important to know and likely to be on this second test. Medications I specifically reviewed were blood pressure medications, cardiac medications, pain relievers, common psychiatric medications such as SSRIs and some antipsychotics, respiratory medications such as albuterol, and oral contraceptives. I did not spend that much time on antibiotics because it seemed to have skipped my mind, so I wish I had spent a little more time reviewing those. I plan to do a little extra reviewing of antibiotics prior to the proctored ATI exam. I also wish I had reviewed more about latex allergy precautions because I was very stumped on that question during the practice test. But overall, I feel good about both practice assessments, and I feel like I was able to reflect on my performances to create a more effective study plan. I like how I was able to see that my score improved on the second test after I had spent some time reviewing common medications because it reiterated that my review strategies were effective and I was seeing improvement.
